Covid 19 Schedule

St. John's is scheduled to reopen Sunday, July 5 for our regular 10 am service.

We will continue to offer services in person as long as we meet the requirements set forth by the Diocese of Texas and the State of Texas.

Procedures

The following are procedures and guidelines for reopening St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sealy, Texas. These procedures have been reviewed and accepted by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and follow CDC Guidelines for a gathering.

​Entrance:
• Side door facing the Parish Hall. 
• Senior members and those with underlying medical conditions are asked to remain at home.
• Maintain a safe social distance at all times.

Face mask and hand sanitizer station:
• Members are encouraged to bring their own face mask; however, a face mask and hand sanitizer station will be located at the entrance door. Masks are required to enter the church.

Seating:
• We will sit in every other pew; two persons to a pew. One person at each end of the pew to maintain social distancing (6 feet). Family members may sit together in a pew.
• Pews with closed signs are not to be used.
• An usher will assist you if you need help finding a seat.
• Worship bulletins are placed to designate seating places. Please do not use the Book of Common Prayer.
• Leave worship bulletins on pew after the service.
• Reserve a seat by emailing the church at secretary@stjohnssealy.com

Singing:
• There will be music, but no singing. Please do not use the Hymnal.

Processionals:
• There will be no processionals

Passing of the Peace:
• Stand in place and recognize others, but do not touch or approach except for family members seated together.

Communion:
• There will not be a Common Cup (wine). The Celebrant will sanctify and consume the wine at the Altar which is symbolic of wine consumption by all.
• The Sanctified Bread will be served one pew at a time to the communicant standing or kneeling in place.

Offering:
• The Alms basin will be at the back of the church. Please place your offering there when leaving the church.

After the service:
• Leave your worship bulletin in the pew.
• Maintain social distance.
• Do not congregate in the Church, outside the Church, or in the Parking Lot.
• The Parish Hall will be closed.

If you wish to have a Question and Answer session after the service remain in your pew seat.

Stay Safe, Keep Social Distance, Wash and Sanitize your hands, and wear a face mask.
